Job Description

Job Purpose:

 

An experienced C# senior developer to join the Commodities Simpliciti team for EOD feeds solutions

 

Job Background/context:

  • The Commodities technology group provides application development support to Commodities business globally. This includes Trading, Sales, Marketing, Risk Management, the Financial Division and Operations.

 

  • Become part of the Simpliciti team supporting market-making, exchange connectivity, market data feeds and data strategy,

 

  • Develop and deploy solutions to meet desk requirements following an agile methodology.

 

  • Be part of implementing FRTB to provide a scalable, stable solution which supports quick and efficient on-boarding of new asset classes and scale for increasing deal volumes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Get the requirements from all the global stakeholders, transform them into Simpliciti & deliver the EOD feeds to downstreams.
  • Delivery of all the EOD  feeds for all the new assets onboarding under FRTB program
  • Create a knowledge base for EOD feeds & percolate it in the Simpliciti team.
  • Implement industry best practices including coding best practices, unit test coverage, code review, use of configuration management.
  • Work directly with peer technologists, business analysts, traders to understand requirements
  • Integrate with the global development team to provide innovative solutions for system needs.
  • Contribute towards the improvement of our development process with own experience and knowledge.
  • Partner with application support team to understand production issues, investigate root causes of failure and implement short and long term solutions to production problems.

Qualifications
 

Person Specification

 

Knowledge/Experience:

 

  • Extensive experience in Windows based software development and support
  • Experience in developing/supporting scalable, highly fault tolerant distributed systems desirable
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with focus on Test Driven Development
  • Desire to learn and implement industry best practices

 

Essential Skills:

 

  • Exceptional knowledge of C# & WCF.
  • Hands-on experience with C#, WCF, XAML and other .NET framework-based technologies
  • Experience developing front-end applications supporting high frequency messaging architecture & real-time data streams.
  • Ability to work independently liaising with global teams, communicating with developers, traders and quants.
  • Good understanding of FX, Markets, Commodity Trading a big plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of SQL databases
  • Strong analytical and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills

 

Desirable Skills:

 

  • Strong knowledge in JavaScript, HTML and CSS. 
  • Hands-on experience in Python scripting is desirable
  • Experience with automated build and release management
  • Familiarity with Big Data stack
  • Investment Banking experience
  • Commodity, Interest-rate derivative or Fixed Income experience
