The Water Safety Instructor functions under the direction of the Aquatic Program Supervisor. This Instructor is certified by the American Red Cross to teach swimming lessons and water safety to children and adults ranging from 6 months of age and up. American Red Cross protocol is followed for the curriculum.


Wellstar is looking for a Skill Water Saftey insrtuctor

Provide a safety topic training for students in group and private lessons.

a. Use visual aids to describe topic and perform if necessary.

  1. Teach required skills based on appropriate level of instruction in group and private lessons.

a. Review previously learned skills

b. Introduce new skill, provide visual example and verbal explanation

c. Drill the new skill


Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED or currently enrolled in high school

Required Minimum Certification: . Instructor must possess American Red Cross WSI, CPR and First Aid

certifications, and attain AHA -BLS within 30 days of hire

Required Minimum Experience: Experience preferred but will train under supervisors direction.

Required Minimum Skills: Display strong motivation for community outreach and working with children and adults.

Displays excellent communication and motivational skills. Displays excellent health and wellness lifestyle.

For Direct Patient Care positions, Indicate American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics

certification required:

BLS (Basic Life Support
