Responsibilities

Functions under the direction of a technology department manager / leader. Programmer duties include developing and supporting interfaces, applications and tools to assist team members with their duties. Analyst duties require ability to provide intermediate level support of administrative or clinical applications. Must be able to relate technical issues to WellStar IT support staff. Must be able to relate technical issues to non-technical functional team members using an appropriate level business operation terminology. Must have working knowledge of PC and server operating systems. Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of SQL, relational databases and adhoc reporting tools.

Uses strong communication skills to deliver superior customer service. Works with outside departments/companies to ensure accurate data transfer of application data to both internal and external WellStar applications or vendors. Works with other departments to accomplish the goals established for the project.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in computer science or related field preferred.

Required Minimum Experience:

4 years’ experience in programmer / analyst role providing application design, development, maintenance and support preferred. Technical education or IT certifications may be considered in lieu of work experience. Proven ability to troubleshoot and design applications required. Experience in planning, implementing, testing, leading teams, and training through maintenance project, upgrades or new functionality preferred.

Required Minimum Skills:

Requires intermediate knowledge of Microsoft programming languages. Microsoft Visual Basic and Visual Basic for Applications preferred. Must use software development life cycle (SDLC) best practices. Requires intermediate knowledge of systems analysis. Good verbal and written communication skills, be well organized and have the ability to analyze and troubleshoot application problems. This individual must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team.
