A new and exciting opportunity has been established for a Children’s Complex Care Nurse, working within the Generic Children's Community Nursing Team. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and flexible; you will need an expert understanding of the needs of children with complex health care needs and their families/carers. This is a new role within the Children’s Community Team and will allow the successful candidate to put their own mark on the role, you will need to network with other Children’s Complex Care Nurses across the region to ensure care is evidence based and best practice is followed.
You will have a caseload of children with complex health care needs. It is a permanent, full time position at Band6, job sharing would be considered for the right applicants. You will need to be able to work independently and make your own decisions with the support of your line manager and the Matron.
You will need to develop individual plans of care for the children on your caseload, be their advocate and have an understanding of the stresses and worries a parent has each day caring for their child. You will need to have excellent communication skills, building relationships and lines of communication with tertiary centres and primary care; working with the multidisciplinary team to foster a seamless service for children, from birth, through childhood and transition into adulthood.
You must be clinically competent to provide care to children.You will be developing education packages and provide education to families, colleagues and the MDT.
The days are Monday-Friday, hours and days are negotiable.
