Are you looking for an exciting position where along with learning new skills you will be part of a patient’s journey from beginning to end? If so the Stroke Unit at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals is the right place for you!

We are looking for motivated and committed Band 5 Staff Nurses to come join our team! The Stroke Unit is a 41 bedded unit which opened in July 2013 and comprises of Acute Care and Rehabilitation. We provide 24 hour thrombolysis carried out within the Stroke Unit and we work with the patient towards their individual goals.

You will be working on a busy multi-disciplinary unit where the team is friendly, active and dedicated to promoting individualised stroke care to promote optimum independence. 


We are highly focused upon your education, and we have specialist stroke training programmes available in-house as well as external courses. Commitment to undertake ongoing in-service training and development is essential.


We are focused on the care that our patients receive, and that their carers are given the opportunity to be involved in a range of patient educational activities. This will be supported by the Specialist Stroke team.
