The Director of Value Analysis Process Improvement is responsible for field level standardization efforts as well as

field level process improvement and program implementation efforts. The incumbent will spend the majority of time in

our hospitals successfully implementing product and process standardization efforts, new product implementation

efforts, and new solution (software, process, training, etc.) initiatives. All of these initiatives and efforts are designed to

implement and sustain ongoing savings and value to WellStar’s acute and non-acute facilities.

This Leader will be reposnsible for identifying savings and value initiatives, and managing these initiatives via

professional grade project management tools and methodologies. This Leader will maintain an ongoing “job jar” of

opportunities and will report status of projects and programs to the SVP of Supply Chain and the heads of our VA

Service Line Leaders. The incumbent and their Team Members will be responsible for status reporting at VA Service

Line meetings and ensuring all Stakeholders are aware of ongoing project status and impact.

This Leader will be responsible for leading a small group of highly skilled professionals who will work in the field

implementing these projects. As their Leader, this individual will be repsoonbiel for all performance management

responsibilities for his/her area of responsibility.

This leader will build and maintain a supportive relationship with leaders, medical, supply chain and clinical staff to

ensure consensus and a collaborative decision –making process.

This leader will be accountable for aligning supply and service spend with system-wide local or group purchasing

organization contracts. This leader shall utilize contract leverage to secure favorable terms and costs.

This leader will be responsible to oversee implementation of approved initiatives, coordinate staff education and

monitor project completion dates and metrics to achieve sustainable improvements.

This leader will aim to build mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers/vendors in order that the entire supply chain

and value analysis team works in a cooperative manner. Instead of constantly changing suppliers/vendors to find the

lowest prices, supply chain leaders and value analysis leaders will build longer term relationships with

suppliers/vendors that offer quality, value, a willingness to collaborate and the flexibility to meet changing supply




Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Clinical field such as Nursing, Surgical Technician, or the like.

Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in a clinical field; to include at least 5 of those in an integrated, multi-site healthcare system, and 5 years in a leadership role.

Required Minimum Skills: Must be high energy and results oriented. Must demonstrate extensive experience in developing supply chain strategies across a large health care system, specifically in the areas of cost savings, product standardization, and process improvement. Effective in collaborating with senior leaders across a complex and diverse health system. Demonstrates expert understanding of supply chain information systems and the interrelationship of clinical systems. Effective in ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams at a high level in a large hospital or multi-hospital system. Proven management skills and demonstrated knowledge of hospital and clinical staff functions, medical/surgical supplies, capital equipment, purchased services, diagnostic testing, etc. Effective leadership, organizational, and mentoring/educating skills. Ability to facilitate work groups in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communications. Strong analytical, contracting, supplier relationship management, value analysis, and negotiation skills.
