Abour Your Job:

As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing relationships with Qatar Airways’ trade customers. The responsibilities include developing a successful, consistent approach to local and multinational dealing, which drives maximum revenue and minimum cost of sale. It also includes gaining maximum value for the airline from any Agreements that exist between to the two parties. Engages in joint sales and marketing activity to grow the level and quality of QR revenue sold through these partners and driving efficiencies in the distribution processes.

Specific accountabilities include :

  • Plan and strategize selling activities for the assigned areas to ensure optimum revenues for QR, contributes to the formulation and implementation of QR sales strategy to maximize short and long term revenue opportunities, reduce cost of sale and generate channel shift where appropriate.
  • Prepares an account development plan to achieve short, medium, and long term mutual benefits for

    Trade Partners.

  • Develops and maintains long term strategic relationships with Qatar Airways’ Trade partners
  • Reviews QR sales data with account portfolio to drive revenue and seek out tactical revenue opportunities
  • Manages and co-ordinate projects and initiatives on behalf of area of responsibility
  • Develops tactical Sales and Marketing activity in support of sales opportunities in Trade Partners market place.
  • Maintain Sales professionalism standards
  • Research and report other airline schedules/practices/ fares (market intelligence), events and other potential QR concerns and recommend corrective action with proper business case
  • Effectively manage accounts and key customers and effectively plan sales calls, submit sales call plans & timely QSales reports as required.
  • Represents QR at trade events, promotions and sales functions, including supporting educational and familiarization visits
  • Solicits new and existing accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals through sales calls, written communication and email and telephone solicitation.
  • Follows up on leads and business generated by sales calls.
  • Plan and direct all sales activities including planning and implementing forecasts as well as developing policies and processes together with management


Feeds to Sales Manager, local market intelligence that may be incorporated into the strategic direction of India sales strategy.


About You:

To be effective in this role, you will need a Bachelors Degree combined with a minimum of four years of experience within a travel-related sales role. 

You will need an excellent knowledge of the local market and industry trends, along with an understanding of customer requirements.  An ability to succeed in a sales focused role within a fast growing company is a key requirement with  a proven record of meeting and over-achieving sales targets.

Experience in a GDS system will be preferred. 

You will need to be fluent (written and spoken) in English to perform this role.
