NHS HIGHLAND RAIGMORE HOSPITAL, INVERNESS RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT INTERVENTIONAL RADIOGRAPHER x 2 POSTS 37.5 hours per week, Permanent Band 6 : £30,401 to £38,046 The radiology department at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, has an opening for an Interventional Radiographer to come and work in this specialised team. The interventional team undertakes all examinations in the fluoroscopy, angiography and cardiac suites covering a broad range of procedures, through a 24/7 shift system. The new team member will work with the experienced radiographers, specialist radiology nurses and highly skilled consultants to continually improve the quality and efficiency of the service provided. Interventional or cardiac experience is beneficial to fulfil the demanding requirements of this post, as well as the ability to participate in the 24/7 shift system, with rotation into the conventional imaging department as required during nights and weekends. Undertaking approximately 5500 procedures per annum, there is a purpose built Interventional Unit for angiography and cardiac cases comprising of one GE Innova Cardiac system and a Siemens Artis Zee angiography system. The Interventional Unit also has a dedicated 5 bed recovery ward and full medical support. The fluoroscopy unit is situated within the X-ray department and consists of a Toshiba Ultimax-i system. Raigmore Hospital is the only acute district hospital serving the population of the Highlands and has been based on the site since 1941. Raigmore Hospital consists of 8 floors. These floors house Teaching Facilities, a Theatre Suite of 9 Operating Theatres, a 7 bed Intensive Care Unit (with capacity to flex up to 8 beds), a 4 bed Coronary Care Unit, a Maternity Unit, Chest Unit and a Renal Unit; all of which are serviced by comprehensive support services.
