An exciting opportunity has arisen on the John Atwell Day Ward (JADW) for a highly motivated, dedicated registered nurse with good leadership qualities to join our friendly, supportive nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
ABOUT THE TEAM
John Atwell is a busy ten bed ward which sees over 5,500 children a year. It has close links with the welcome research unit and maintains close liaison with the multi-disciplinary team across a range of specialties including gastroenterology, endocrinology, allergy, nephrology and rheumatology. History taking and physical assessment courses are available to support further education and training.

The applicant should be motivated, enthusiastic and able to work with maturity in pressurised situations. You will be expected to show:
Applicants’ should have post qualifying experience in a relevant specialty which includes working in an acute paediatric environment. The applicant will be expected to show good co-ordination and leadership skills participating in workload planning and coordination of care of booked patients. You will be expected to cover all shifts, including some weekend work.

Getting to Work
Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes. This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited. UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible. UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
